YT24 Air leg Rock Drill is a classic handheld pneumatic drilling equipment independently developed and produced by our company. Powered by compressed air, it integrates impacting, rotating, and slag-removing functions, and is equipped with an independent pneumatic leg to provide propulsion and support. It is an indispensable core drilling tool for small and medium-sized mines, quarries, tunnel excavation, and various rock excavation projects, suitable for drilling horizontal and inclined blast holes in medium-hard or hard rock (with a hardness coefficient f=8–18). This machine can be used in conjunction with the FT140BD or FT140BC type pneumatic legs and the FY200B type oil injector with a transparent housing, and can also be mounted on drill rigs or drill frames for operation.

  • Fully Pneumatic Design: All operations (impact, rotation, slag removal, and leg extension/retraction) are powered by compressed air, with no electrical components. This makes it inherently safe and particularly suitable for mining environments with risks of gas or dust explosions.
  • Independent Pneumatic Leg: The leg is connected to the main unit via an air hose, allowing independent adjustment of angle and thrust. Operators can flexibly control the propulsion force, reducing labor intensity and improving drilling efficiency.
  • Wet Drilling: The machine is equipped with a water supply channel for wet drilling. Pressurized water is injected into the bottom of the hole through the central hole of the drill rod or a side-mounted water needle, moistening and flushing out rock dust.

  • Powerful Blowing: A dedicated "strong blow" air channel is included. When drilling deep holes or in muddy conditions, the strong blow device can be activated to inject a large volume of high-pressure air into the hole bottom, forcefully removing debris and effectively preventing drill rod jamming.

Air Source: A stable and clean supply of compressed air is required, with a rated working pressure of 0.63 MPa and an air consumption of approximately 4.8 m³/min.

Water Source: For wet drilling, clean pressurized water is needed, typically with a water pressure of 0.3-0.5 MPa.

Air Leg: It is recommended to use an FT140BD or FT140BC type air leg to provide thrust and support.

Lubricator: It is recommended to use an FY200B type automatic lubricator for continuous internal lubrication of the machine.

Q:How is the machine controlled? Is the operation complicated?

A: No, it is not complicated. All core operations (starting/stopping, advancing/retracting the air leg, strong purging, and water injection) are integrated into two control triggers on the handle. The ergonomic design allows for easy onehanded operation and has a low learning curve.

Q: After starting up, the machine does not impact or has weak impact. What could be the possible reasons?

A: Please check in the following order:

Air source: Is the air pressure above 0.5 MPa? Are the air hoses kinked or leaking?

Lubrication: Is there oil in the lubricator? Is the lubrication line clear?

Control valve: Is the operating trigger fully open?

Piston and cylinder: Are they severely worn or blocked by foreign objects? (This requires inspection by qualified personnel).
